Volunteer Positions

The Mediation and Restorative Justice Centre regularly accepts applications from volunteers interested in services such as case development, mediation, workshop facilitation, general office administration, and special events.

Case Developer or Mediator

MRJC is committed to providing quality mediation services to the community and ensuring consistency in our service delivery. If you are interested in volunteering as a Case Developer or Mediator, you need to have at least 100 hours of mediation training. This can include courses, workshops and work experience. Your experience will be reviewed by the program manager and validity will be at their discretion. In order to assist in these positions you must become a member of the Mediation and Restorative Justice Centre. Please include a current resume with your application forms. Workshop Facilitator

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer workshop facilitator, the necessary prerequisites are: experience in public speaking; experience with workshop delivery; and a demonstrated interest in the conflict management and resolution field. Administration

We always need help around the office! You can help with administrative duties such as data entry, filing, conduct program evaluations, graphic design/lay out and computer support. As well we often have opportunities for participating in the development of new projects that will assist the organization to reach its mission.

Special Projects

By becoming part of our Special Projects team you can take part in any number of short-term projects, including displays at Law Days, assisting with events for National Victims Awareness Week, Restorative Justice Week, Conflict Resolution Day, fundraising at special events and raising awareness of MRJC services through involvement with displays at community events and gatherings. MRJC Board of Directors

The work of MRJC could not be done without the guidance and leadership of its Board of Directors; a group of committed and dedicated individuals who guide the vision of the organization.

There are also opportunities for individuals to work on various Board subcommittees as a way to learn more about the organization prior to making a commitment to serve on the Board. We offer opportunities for involvement on the Finance, Fund Development and Advocacy Committees.
