Public Workshop:
Managing Interpersonal Conflict Workshop Series
MRJC’s workshop series is designed to help you approach difficult situations in everyday life.
“How we speak can open or close doors, heal or hurt, create joy or suffering, and ultimately determines our own degree of happiness.” - Marshall B. Rosenburg
Conflict with someone else can be uncomfortable, especially when faced with situations that are important to us. This 3-hour workshop is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and tools for these difficult situations. Participants take away communication skills and strategies that can be implemented in daily life.
Workshop Objectives
At the end of the workshop series, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in conflict.
- Identify common factors which can contribute to or exacerbate conflict.
- Recognize the difference between reacting and responding in conflict.
- Increased awareness of styles and approaches to conflict.
- Have the capacity to try new communication strategies when in conflict.
Public workshops are typically held once a month at Edmonton Public Library or Leisure Centre locations. The Managing Interpersonal Conflict Workshop Series is available to non-profit organization workplaces as well. All workshops are offered free to participants, however, donations are accepted.
